RYA Powerboat (RIB)
Powerboat level 2
This is the most popular RYA Powerboat course. It suits those new to power boating and those who have some experience but want to ensure they are approaching their boating the right way. There is no requirement for Level 1 to be completed prior to this course.

INSTRUCTOR – STUDENT RATIO
3 students to 1 Instructor and boat
No prior boating experience is necessary. The course equally suits those new to boating and those who have been boating for years. Most people take Level 2 and bypass Level 1. You do not need to already have Level 1 before you take Level 2, however if you wish we can run a one day level 1 course by arrangement.
IS THERE AN END OF COURSE ASSESSMENT?
No. The Instructor runs through each of the modules of the course ensuring that you understand each as you progress.
The course costs £300 per person and includes all fuel (often an extra at some schools) RYA Start Powerboating Handbook and certificate.

- Boat Handling including in confined spaces
- Approaching and securing to a buoy
- Leaving and coming alongside
- Handling a boat at planing speed
- Man overboard
- Launching & recovery
- Navigation to include charts, tides, buoyage
- Undertaking a passage
- The ‘Collision regulations’
